The Calm Before the Storm

Lately things have been pretty quite. Work has slowed down, a little, and things at home have been pretty routine. I know next week or even tomorrow things can drastically change. That's how it is with work. You think you are going to have a break and then all of a sudden, you are wondering why this huge project has popped up out of nowhere and you wish you would have known about it sooner!

I have started on a new project. Well, it's not really new, I have been thinking about it in my head for almost a year now. I am working on a new blog, for animal lovers, and we will see when I get around to actually publishing. As you probably already know, I'm not the best at maintaining a blog lately!

We also just added a new addition to the family, a puppy named Mia. I was not a fan of the name at first, but then it grew on me. Marc kept calling her Mia so finally, any other name just sounded weird. She is the runt of the litter and is a shepherd mix. We found her at Furburbia up in Park City. Her litter was left on the side of the road, so sad. She has 7 adorable siblings if anyone is looking!

I'm excited to have a pup, she has already made me start walking more and become more active! I can't wait for this summer to go on long walks along the parkway. They are building a 13 acre park across the street, so that will be nice as well.

Chop Chop

I totally chopped off my hair!!! I have never had it this short, but I love it! This isn't the best picture...however, this is the only one I have for now. I will post more of this summer so far in the next few days!!!

Random

I can't believe I haven't posted anything since Dec. 22. That is bad. As a social media "specialist" I should know better.

Christmas
Christmas was a lot of fun this year. It can sometimes be boring and uneventful seeing as how I have a small family and there are normally O kids around to add to the excitement of the day. This year Brian and Sarah, my cousin from Phoenix and his wife, came to Utah to celebrate the holidays. They announced Christmas morning that they are expecting a baby girl in May. Crazy! So that was pretty exciting news. Now we will have 501 birthdays in May instead of 500.

My cousin Melissa just had a baby girl, Syndi on Dec. 13, so that made Christmas extra special this year. She is so cute and looks just like Jaden, her son. It was really fun to see the 3 little ones running around on Christmas and of course I loved holding the baby. (that's the best, when they can't talk, walk or need to be entertained. that sounds bad, I know.)

My mom and I were able to see 3 movies over the five day Christmas vacation. Marley & Me, Doubt and Australia. They were all pretty good. I was excited because I LOVE movies and I hadn't seen one in forever. I would recommend them all.

New Years
Marc and I went to Jackson Hole with his friends from college and stayed with another friend that now lives there. (can we say loaded? yes) We skied one day and it was fun. It was the first time I have ever skied with Marc. I was kind of sick the rest of the time, bummer.

Weddings
My co-worker is getting married in two days and I'm really excited for her. We just had a lunch shower about 10 min ago. Also, my roommate/friend just got engaged over the holidays! So it is kind of wedding central. Angie asked me to be a bridesmaid so I'm super excited. We are already talking about everything and it is a lot of fun. Someone else who is super close to me (I am not naming names just yet) may be getting married as well this year. It will be different, but I will be happy for her as well. Time will tell. I'm sure I will be announcing the news shortly, stay tuned. It's a shocker!

All in all, Christmas was great and things are going well. According to my friend, 2009 is the year of change and change is good. I guess we will all see what it brings!

It has been a crazy past couple of days. Thursday night, REAL had their Christmas party at the new stadium. It was really nice and we had a blast. The new stadium is really awesome and the restaurant where we had our dinner was super nice.

The last few days have been filled with parties. I will post more pictures soon. We had a great weekend. It's so nice to be back home and to spend time with family, friends and Marc. He leaves tomorrow for Nebraska to spend Christmas with his family. This will be his first Christmas at the barn and he is so excited. I hate that we don't get to spend Christmas together, but I think it is so important for both of us to be with our families during the holidays.

With that said...

Friday=Factoid

I have decided to make this factoid about me! So here goes:

I have NEVER and will NEVER wear a collared shirt.

I do not like them. I hate the word BLOUSE. They look good on other people but I will never wear one myself or even try one on. I have felt this way since I was a young and nothing will ever change it.

I get into fights with my mom just because I wont try one on! It makes me cringe to think of even putting one on. It's that serious. People have tried to figure out why I would feel this way, some think it is psychological and others just think I'm plain weird!

Continuing the Trend

After years of claiming that I would never start a blog, here I am. Who knew. For my job, I'm learning a lot about social media and trying to become sort of an expert on the topic. I have found that the best way of learning is doing. So I hope you all, if anyone, enjoys!
